Very shortly after Fort Henry was captured on Feb. 6, 1862, Lt. Seth Ledyard Phelps was directed to take the three "timberclad" (wooden) gunboats (Conestoga, Lexington, Tyler) up the Tennessee River, destroying RR bridges and capturing or destroying all of value to the Confederacy.  The official report by Phelps of this raid may be found here; the precise reference is, The Official Records, Vol. VII, pp. 153--156.  This map is taken from page 136 of Grant Invades Tennessee (University Press of Kansas, 2016).
